Feature film by Martin Koolhoven with music by Dirk Brossé (Dutch title: Knetter) Bonnie is eight years old. Her mother is a bit weird. She tends to stay in bed for weeks on end and then, all of a sudden, she gets up and jumps around the house in overdrive. Bonnie is lucky to have a perfect, rational grandmother that holds the family together. One day, Bonnie’s grandmother dies and her world topples. Bonnie is desperately trying to cope with her lonely mother who can’t seem to get up in the morning nor cook in the evening. A social worker wants to put Bonnie in an adoption home. But she wants to stay with her mum. It’s like the elephants, Bonnie says, a daughter holds on to the tail of her mother.
