Alice premiered at Het Grote Ongeduld

The documentary Alice by Thom Vander Beken, will be screened at Het Grote Ongeduld, the yearly short film festival organised by the University of Brussels. There are screenings in Brussels (November 10 2004); Antwerp (November 12); Ghent (November 17) en Houthalen-Helchteren (November 20).

Recording The Flat Nuts pop choir

Mathias conducted and produced a recording for the pop choir The Flat Nuts from Leuven (Belgium). The choir sang three songs: 'Down in the River to Pray', 'Darn That Dream' and 'Minority'. The latter is an arrangement also written by Mathias.

Alice by Thom Vander Beken, music by Mathias VerraesMathias Verraes finished the music for Thom Vander Beken's new film called Alice. It's a slightly experimental documentary about nurses in a psychiatric hospital. They talk about their lives on the border of reality and their patient's fantasy worlds.
